THE STARS IN THEIR TIME
HALL OF FAME

There are dozens of players, who, for one reason or another are not in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, but who were, at their peak, among the greats of their day; stars in their time. Some, like Jim Kaat and Gil Hodges, more than likely belong in Cooperstown, as do many of the great Negro Leaguers like Biz Mackey and Turkey Stearnes. Good cases can be made for many of other S.I.T.T. inductees, like Babe Adams, Mickey Lolich and Allie Reynolds.

That, however, is not the real point of the Stars In Their Time Hall of Fame. Whether they were greats who just missed Cooperstown, or players like Smokey Joe Wood and J.R. Richard who were Cooperstown-bound before injury shortened their careers, or just greats like Ted Kluszewski and Minnie Minoso who didn't really have enough great seasons to qualify, these players were all stars at their peak and we don't think they should be forgotten.

Each year we elect 8 new players to S.I.T.T., three from the post-war era, three pre-war major leaguers, and two from the Negro Leagues. As a subscriber to The Diamond Angle, you can both nominate players who you feel should be in the S.I.T.T. Hall of Fame, and vote in our annual ballot
