RECOLLECTIONS OF GLENN BURKE, A SPORTSMAN

He tried to defy the odds as a gay black man,
his intentions later were evident.
But alas frustrating.

A universal handshake that would be remembered
through a victorious accomplishment and time has
forgotten, little do THEY know!

He had a scowl, forceful, chiseled,
and aggression that would not wait!

His beauty was that of an African prince;
loved, feared, sometimes hated.

Yet misunderstood. A thuggish persona,
finally withered away by a
debilitating and rotting illness.

He was an inspiration, life of the
party, spoiled, but still prideful 'til
death. He will NOW be remembered as a
HERO!

S. Johnson
