In the dead of October in Ninety-three
'Past bedtime' you say, and not for youth -
CBS would finish its four year dunder -
'Headless Horsemen' were played by pitchers galore -
While Letterman waited with "Alfred Newman" grin -
Minnesota was there with native sons blazing -
Six 'ribbies' apiece going into game six -
With pre and post game drivel unbound -
T'was 'kitty litter' deep, with no Kaat in sight -
But there on the field were the red, white, and blue -
"Keep on Krukin", "the wild Thing got lost" -
"Play Misty for Me"-the skies did agree -
So back to Toronto with Maple Leafs raging -
The Paul so revered is a Molitor hot!
First, third, or DH, supreme at thirty-seven
And on to game six, again in the 'dry home' -
The setting was etched with drama galore -
Nay, hey West and Wild Thing blew it right quick -
A three run homer ending the Series,
No Alfonse for Gaston, 'twas Lenny sans Squiggy,
No-shows were Inky, Olerud and Rickey,
For MVP Molly, hot all season lonq -
St. Paulites have served in this Fall classic,
Morris, Winfield, now Paul, reaped late season glory -
Yes my children, the best have appeared,
