Bonds' IBBs Compared to Team Records
By David Marasco
According to ESPN this morning, Barry Bonds has drawn 94 intentional walks
this season. That's a lot of free passes, more than double the pre-Barry mark
of 45 by Willie McCovey. I was wondering how it compared in the grand scheme of
things, so I looked at the career IBB charts for every team in MLB. Here are
the results - teams where Bonds 2004 would be the record holder are in italics and
Hall of Famers are in bold.

Bonds 2004 would be the first name on the chart for eight teams. He would
place second for six more squads. Of course, this is in late August. If
Bonds manages to draw 120 IBBs this year, he would place first on 13 different team
lists. Yikes indeed.
